AUTOMATED PARKING SYSTEMS

SCRIPT (Voice Over)

India Conditions

India! Our nation of protracted history, great diversity and unique economic growth! India is among the top ten economies of the world. Employment opportunities are rife in this burgeoning business environment leaving working professionals with even more than average disposable incomes. The country is the 4th largest global economy based on Purchasing Power Parity. The mood and malady of progress have clearly set in; for rapid progress brings its own share of rampant problems.

Parking Paradox

In the new millennium India has fast emerged as an important market for automobiles. India ranks 3rd in Asia in terms of car sales! Every other day automobile manufacturers unveil a new model citing trendier looks, fuel efficiency and higher levels of ride comfort, among other attractions. As Indian people fulfil their needs for fashionable personalized transportation more and more vehicles are added to the already congested roads of India. But the real problem is parking space.

Today, there is an urgent need to address this predicament. It is imperative to find a comprehensive and cost-effective solution to this national issue, affecting us the most in densely populated metropolitan areas.

The Solution

We have the solution!

Gannon Dunkerley & Co., Ltd. has formed a consortium with Simplex Projects Ltd. to give a rapidly changing urban India much needed Automated Parking Systems.

Fully Automated Parking Systems are the new global watch words in urban planning. Making the best use of available below ground space, automated parking systems create a cost effective, safe and environment friendly parking solution.

Gannon Dunkerley & Co., Ltd.

Gannon Dunkerley & Co., Ltd. is an engineering and infrastructure Company with a ubiquitous presence in all major sectors of industry. Our construction projects and turnkey solutions’ activities range from Civil to Mechanical to Mineral to Airport Baggage Handling Systems. Though the company is primarily involved in Civil Construction Projects, Gannon has a well established Mechanical and Electrical Division. This division undertakes major fabrication and erection of steel structures, mechanical plant installations in Industrial Units. In addition a Water Treatment Division to construct Water and Sewage Treatment Plants for State Governments and Municipal Corporations. In a milestone construction effort Gannon has built India’s largest water treatment plant with 650 Million Liters per Day Capacity in Gujarat, for the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation.

Simplex Projects Ltd.

Simplex Projects Ltd. has successfully constructed over 70 Road and Rail-over-Bridges, over half a million square feet of residential and commercial building space, power plants to chemical factories, and multiplexes to shopping malls. Simplex are specialized in Bridges and Flyovers (reinforced and pre-stressed), Industrial Structures and Long Span Structure-steel & pre-stressed concrete. Simplex Projects has been instrumental in introducing Automated Car Parking Systems in India.

Our consortium proposes to revolutionize parking spaces in the country. In order to achieve this Gannon and Simplex are jointly making all financial outlays for planning and execution of Parking Systems Projects. The consortium is proposing to implement Parking System technology developed by Simpark Infrastructure Pvt. Ltd., a subsidiary of Simplex Projects Ltd. Simpark has indigenized several technologies with most of the technical parts manufactured and fabricated in India to create a revolutionary parking technology that will help alleviate vehicular parking in the country.

Introducing Automated Parking Systems! Flash, Park and Leave… it’s that simple. Those are the only three steps a driver needs to do when parking a car in this Parking Systems lot. After that the automatic parking system takes over. Integrating the latest in laser and computer technology with conventional elevator components, these high-tech Parking Systems offer the perfect parking solution for India. The system eliminates most of the hassles of conventional parking while doubling, even tripling the capacity of similarly sized lots.

The consortium is making a value proposition to erect Automated Parking Facilities around the country on BOT Basis; i.e. to build and operate the facilities at our own cost. The proposition is attractive as a decision to build Automated Car Parks doesn’t mean increase in public spending.

Parking Demo

There are 2 high-tech options catering to below ground automated parking construction opportunities. These are the Dolly and the Pallet type technologies for below ground automated parking systems.

Dolly & Pallet Technologies

The parking procedure in both below ground options is relatively the same in terms of parking space hire and departure.

In the Dolly type Technology the Dolly-forklifts the car. The elevator lowers the car to the destination basement level. Moving away from elevator the shuttle transports the car to a position in line with the empty stall. Finally the car is delivered to its designated stall by the Dolly. Then the Dolly returns to the shuttle for the next parking procedure.

In Pallet Technology the elevator takes the car down to the destination level. Churning of pallets organizes the placements of parked cars. The car is brought onto an empty slot and another pallet comes onto the elevator. The pallets run on high load bearing carrier wheels.

End – The Future is here!

Fully Automated Car Parking Systems are replacing parking lots and garages all over the world. Hamburg Germany, Lisbon Portugal, Tokyo Japan. The Gannon Simplex consortium’s Parking Technology options are practical, cost-effective solutions to India’s parking woes. Space is disappearing fast in all of India’s bustling cities and the need to curb parking problems is immediate. The Automated Parking System is a future that’s here today. Making a decision now to change over to this option is in line with building a healthy, safer, modern urban India.

Star Performers and Achievers or any person that strikes a sizeable deal or brings in a critical customer is appreciated on the Intranet through columns like “Big Hits of the Day”. All customer Appreciation that comes to our employees are posted on the Intranet under a section called “Way to Go”.

For creating awareness on environmental issues, we have launched an initiative called R-Five and developed a micro-site for it. We have tied up with Organizations like GiveIndia for a Corporate Payroll Giving program.

Some initiatives are synonymous with our core values and the employee value proposition. Though these values are intrinsic to Kotak, retaining their essence in the wake of a large and growing employee base is critical and hence some initiatives like Eureka, P3, and KIT are now in firmly place.

BPO INDIA - JARDINE LLOYD THOMSON

Introduction – India Scenario
Emerging India is the world’s next economic power. A nation of great diversity and great skill.

As businesses evolve globally, organizations are transcending boundaries, customers and suppliers. So much so that even processes are going abroad.

India is a rapidly progressing nation and today it is the 4th largest economy in the world with the 2nd largest GDP among developing nations. The subcontinent is growing with macro economic stability and is in the process of integrating with the world economy. Over the last decade India has registered the fastest growth among major democracies.

Thriving on the challenges of a mew millennium, today India is a nation offering far beyond merely a low cost alternative. Among Microsoft’s three development centers one is located in India and Motorola was the first SEI CMMI level 6 organizations to enter the country. In this country, IT Engineering and Management Schools produce some of the finest talent globally. A fact that clearly indicates fundamental endemic knowledge and skill.

BPO India
With a large employable talent pool and good IT infrastructure India emerges, not surprisingly, as the preferred destination to off-shore. It all began with British Airways and American Express in 1992. The BPO industry took a big turn in 1997 when GE entered the country with a decidedly strong off-shore model. Now, a large financial services presence ensures availability of experienced talent, while graduate and postgraduate schools add close to 3, 000, 000 people to the eligible talent set. India is now a proven market for Business Process Off-shoring with over one million people and 15 years of experience.

Mumbai being the financial capital of the country it is the most exciting place to work for financial services professionals. Financial initiatives, on the other hand, bring welcome advantages such as a no tax period, technology backbone and IT enabled services (ITES).

Due to its inherent nature much would not be possible in the BPO industry without the technology in India. Thanks to cheap bandwidth India is ideal for off shore operations. Mumbai is the termination point for two global submarine cables coming from the Suez Canal and Japan. And to top it off, Microsoft has a different pricing mechanism for its products in India 60% of India’s global off-shore share originates from the USA, 25% from the UK and 15% from the rest of the globe. And the benefit to a company operating in India is a 40 – 50% cost saving. But is that sustainable? In terms of employment remuneration for BPO employees the market has witnessed a CAGR of 12-15%. In terms of technology, bandwidth costs have reduced by over 70% in the last 5 years while hardware costs have seen a 50% reduction. Lease rental on facilities have increased only marginally and fit-out costs have remained stable in the face of improving standards. A significant attraction for off-shoring here is the depreciating rupee against the pound. Increasing from Rs 67 in 2000 to Rs 83 to the pound in 2008, thereby improving cost competitiveness. Talent pool, cost deferential and quality ensures that India continues to dominate as the off-shore capital of the world.

Strong fundamentals make India virtually irresistible as an ideal off-shore destination. People, process and technology integrate perfectly here to bring about definite cost benefits. Furthermore continuous ongoing process improvement has absorbed six sigma methodologies to eliminate excessive processes making a much leaner, faster, more responsive organization.

RAJDHANI EXPRESS

Intro
V.O.L. – Hindi: Aaj ka Hindustani…

M.V.O. Begins: In step with the world!

India is as diverse as she is beautiful. For decades her generations have traveled the length and breath of the land on the lifeline of the nation, an endless road; the longest railroad in the world.

Northern Railways open their doors to advertisers
The Delhi area, comprising New Delhi, Delhi, Hazrat Nizamuddin and Delhi Sarai Rohilla stations, maintain more than 50 trains intensively on a daily basis. Among these are the twelve eminent pairs of the Rajdhani Express. They are intensively maintained here, where they originate: New Delhi and Hazrat Nizamuddin. For the average Indian and for those descendents of Indians born in far away lands, the Rajdhani Express holds a glint of magic, the majesty of passage, and the original romance of travel as it should have trickled into the modern world. It’s a story of opulence, a never-ending journey of time.

So many people, so many miles, so many expectations.
Super: From Dibrugarh/Guwahati in the east to Trivandrum/Chennai/Bangalore in the south.

The promise of adventure takes us all away from home. Makes strangers of us on long haul journeys touching such significant commercial hubs as Bhopal, Nagpur, Bangalore, Secunderabad and more. Popularity breeds consensus. The Rajdhani Express is teeming with mobile humanity across the nation everyday. Given the long attention span of these passengers, tremendous potential for advertising remained untapped until now. That and the need for upkeep under the strain of passing millions are primarily important to maintain passenger interfaces, cleanliness and excellent amenities.

Due to excessive utility, good quality exterior paint with high gloss value can be provided. And, newly developed procedures exist to upgrade amenities quickly in a mechanized fashion delivering high productivity and customer satisfaction.

Railways search for a suitable partner
The answer: a public private partnership between the railways and an advertiser. Wherein, the selected partner attains specific advertising rights in a particular train group of the partner’s preference. The rationale for the association in improving passenger interfaces is based on the fact that brand advertisers may like to associate their brand with a product to passengers' liking and also be perceived as an agency striving to improve passenger facilities. Additionally, depending on the life span of amenities, as indicated by the railways, the partner shall maintain stock provisions for consumables and replacements. All of this spans the duration of the contract. On their part the railways shall extend complete support to the partner in locating approved products, sources of their supply as well as approved processes and agencies capable of execution.

Peacock Media Steps in
No wonder than the answer is among India’s fastest growing out-of-home media companies, Peacock Media Ltd. Peacock’s value proposition to the railways comprises advertising and vinyl wrapping combined with upgrading coaches in the train. (Visual: A mock coach is prepared)

Peacock Media has already won the bid for 3 Rajdhani Trains. We have tied-up with CTS for maintenance of cleanliness. Long distance travelers can now expect comprehensive, mechanized, long lasting coach interior and exterior cleanliness using enhanced tools and components. The use of high pressure jet machines, portable single disc mini scrubbers and other specialized tools are essential along with better materials.

Visual: The fully upgraded train with Airtel branding on it is flagged off.

Upgraded interiors of the Train
Inside the train it’s all a different story now.
• Long lasting, improved gloss exterior coach painting.

• Synthetic matting for entrance doorways & vestibule passages.

• Abrasion resistant, homogenous, single ply PVC flooring in accordance with RDSO's specifications.

• Modern, durable & more hygienic toilet amenities including consumables.

• Retro-reflective Exterior & interior destination & other information tags.

• Comprehensive, mechanized, long lasting coach exterior & interior cleaning using better tools and components.

• Buffing of metal

12. Passenger feedback. 13. News Coverage-electronic and print. 14. Benefits to the Indian Railways and passengers from the collaboration. 15. What more can be done in this arena.

With all this and more on the way, traveling on the world’s longest railroad will never be the same again.
